General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Any drug having sedation may cause addiction. My personal opinion is that you should gradually reduce Benadryl like taken half tablet a week then one forth for a week.

While this is important, but you should also focus on the cause of insomnia and to follow sleep hygiene. That is to fix time and place for sleep, avoid stimulants like caffeine, alcohol in the night.

Also, avoid using bright screens, like mobile etc late at night. I hope this would work. In case it does not help, you may need sleep pills by your doctor prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
