Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain your son has a deeply infected tooth and the infection has reached below the root tips of the tooth via the root canals of the tooth and causing infection and pus formation and at times the infection perforates the bone and accumulates in the soft tissues leading to formation of a bump over the gums forming a
DENTAL ABSCESS or PERIAPLICAL ABSCESS..
You should take immediate attention and consult a Paediatric
Dentist known as a PEDODONTIST and get him evaluated and also get an
x ray done and the treatment will be planned depending on whether it is permanent tooth or milk tooth..
For permanent tooth if it can be saved
Root canal treatment followed by antibiotics like
amoxicillin and painkiller like
Tylenol or
advil can be given, if it cannot be saved extraction is advisable..
In case of Deciduous tooth or milk tooth if roots are not resorbed either root canal or extraction depending upon condition of tooth is done while if roots have started resorbing extraction has to be done and all the treatment will be followed by antibiotics and painkillers..
Hope this information helps..
