Suggest Treatment For Yellowish Scab Oozing Orange Pus On The Foot

I fell over a few days ago and had a cut the size of penny on the top of my foot near my ankle, I put a plaster on it so no bacteria got into it while i was out. I took it off when i got home so it could breathe. It started to scab the next day but I went to a water park later on that day and so that got rid of the scab . Today I looked at it and the new-scab looks yellowish and it s oozing orange pus. There s a half centimetre light pink ring around it but I m not sure if it s scarred skin or something else. Is it infected and do I need to go to the doctors?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a skin infection. I suggest using hydrogen peroxide to clean the area. I also suggest using Neosporin cream and cover the area with a clean bandage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
