Suggest Treatment Options For Ear Infection

I've been having the ear infection for the last 2 months, and being medicated too. Today when I met the doctor in another hospital, he told me to go for surgery, because it's getting worse. I want to have a second opinion on it. Could me help me out?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have ear infection and it is not getting improve with medicines . Era infection can occur due to may reasons like from eustachian tube , when upper respiratory track infection left untreated , swimmer's ear and due to some foreign body . When infection spread to inner ear it become complicated and dangerous , Because there are vital structures which maintain balance of the body . In such cases doctor usual order certain test to confirm the diagnosis like CT scan and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like gentamicine at least for 10 day and sometimes place tubes in ear to release the pressure and drainage . If all the above methode fail to improve the condition then doctor may go for surgery to remove the underlying cause . For now keep your ear dry and apply hot dry compresses to external ear .
