Suggest Treatment Other Than Isotretinoin For Cysts Around Jawline And Lower Cheeks

i'm a woman in my 30s, suffering from cysts around jawline and lower cheeks. I've been prescribed with isotretinoin but I'm really concerned with its side effects. I've been using tea tree oil and Salicylic acid creams but not really work. Are there any other effective treatment but fewer side effects than isotretinoin? thank you for your advice

Hello and Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

I will try to the best of my ability to help you with your concern.

Well jawline is most common place for cyst in the body . In your case it is probably a sebaceous cyst . Cyst occur when the duct of sebaceous gland gets block along with dead skin and bacteria entrapped inside cause infection , this form cyst.

As you are already prescribed with medicines like isotretinoin and getting no results .

If I would be your dermatologist , I will prescribe antibiotics like doxycycline 100 mg once daily for 5 days or spironolactone.

Doctor also use to prescribe azithromycin 500 mg once daily for 3 or 5 days depending upon the severity.

Once the cyst decrease in size the surgically excision under general anesthesia or light therapy like ISOLAZ will be the best option .

I would suggest you to :-

- Use face wash containing benzoyl peroxide .

- Increase intake of water , at least 8 glasses of water daily .

- Apply turmeric powder mix with honey for 10-15 minutes daily twice and then wash with cold water.

I hope it helps.
Thanks
