Suggest Treatment Required According To The Following Semen Analysis Report

All of my test results for a semen analysis were normal except for morphology. The results are as follows normal sperm 1.5%, tail defect coiled 5.5%, duplicate form 5.5% and amorphous head 87.5%. What can I do to fix this if anything, is there a solution other than IVF or ICIU?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Based on the semen analysis report you have posted, it appears that the physical characteristics, sperm count and motility factors remains normal.
But, it is indicating that the sperm morphology is grossly varied. With amorphous forms in such high %, it decreases the fertility index.
In case you are trying for long for pregnancy yo happen normally, the chances are very less.
Since it appears to be an intrinsic sperm developmental defect, the chances of correction with use of medication might not be possible.
Hence, it would be advisable to undergo assisted reproduction by using technique like in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Kindly consult Infertility specialist for appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
