I was in the hospital a few days ago for high blood prssure it was 220/130, they gave me meds and I have been monitoring it the last few days, it is 172/113, yes it was 158/105 and 160/109. I do have a follow up with my dr. on Monday. Im not sure at what point would be considered dangerous to go back to the ER?
Hi welcome to HCM. I understand your query and concern. High blood pressure in your case needs effective management.Blood pressure should be maintained below 130/80 mm of hg pressure. I advise you to have a baseline 2 dimensional echocardiography,ECG and lipid profile to assess the basic cardiac reserve of your heart.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6g/day.Regular physical exercise in the form of brisk walk for 20 min a day for 5 days a week is pretty useful.Drugs like antihypertensives and antiarrhythmics will help.Reduce the intake of fatty and fried food. One pomegranate a day will help to keep your heart at good pace without clot formation. Hence I advise you to visit ER at the earliest.Consult a Cardiologist for further expert management.Post your further queries if any. Thank you.
