Suggest Treatment To Control Blood Sugar And Cholesterol

Hi, I am a 42 year old female, diabetics with high cholesterol. I am not on any medications though the doctor did want me to take statins during my last visit, which I am reluctant. My last HbA1c reading taken a month ago has been very good (4.8%) I am taking the following supplements. Should I stop any of them? Morning: 1 capsule of Nature’s Way B-50 complex 1 softgel of Calcium (600 mg) with Vitamin D3 (400 IU) 1 capsule of Artichoke 500 mg 1 capsule of d-Biotin (5 mg) – started recently hoping to combat hair loss Afternoon: 2 capsules of Cholestene (Red Yeast Rice 1200 mg) – started a month ago due to high cholesterol reading 1 softgel of Ubiquinol 100 mg 2 capsules of Nature’s Way Blood Sugar with Gymnema Evening: 2 capsules of Cholestene (Red Yeast Rice 1200 mg) 1 softgel of Ubiquinol 100 mg 2 capsules of Nature’s Way Blood Sugar with Gymnema 3 capsules of Nature’s Way Blood Sugar consists of Vitamin A (1500 IU), Chronmium (300 mcg), Cinnamon (400 mg), Fenugreek Extract (210 mg), Nopal Opuntia spp (150 mg), Bitter melon (150 mg), Bilberry (100 mg). I chose to take only 2 capsules twice a day. Thank you.

Hello dear,
If your LDL is >70 and your Total cholesterol>200 and HDLs150, your doctor has every reason to put you on a statin medication and be following the current guidelines for treating such levels of blood lipids. I must mention to please discontinue Red Rice Yeast - if you are concerned about statins, Red Rice Yeast acts like a statin and must be monitored with liver tests. You are on too many supplements. Your B-complex, Calcium and vitamin D are ok. The rest you can do without. Season with cinnamon, not in a pill. Season with tumeric, not a pill. Tumeric helps with blood sugar and losing weight. No chromium, fenugreek, bilberry, bitter elon, Nopal Opuntia, Gymnema gaps, or artichoke pills.Too much. I hope I answered your question. Please feel free to come back to see me.
