Hello welcome to HCM. I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Heavy drinking affect very badly in all aspects not only diabetes.
Due to heavy drinking you will have uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension high cholesterol and liver diseases.
My advice to you is -
1.Quit your alcohol gradually under the guidance of some rehabilitation centre, otherwise within 10 years of heavy drinking you will end up with severe liver disease.

2.Check yoyour FBS, PP2BS AND HBA1c report every 3 monthly for adequate sugar control.

3 . Healthy diet, regular brisk walking and exercise is of very much importance. Also do your lipid profile, liver profile and kidney profile and show it to your doctor.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.
