Suggest Treatment To Control Blood Sugar

hi iam a young diabetic recently diagnosed , fasting sugars of 110 , at diagnosis, iam not on medication ,pp sugars after heavey , sweets in meal goes high as 180 to 190 , but on normal diet pp is always 140 to 150 should use medications for that , iam 39 year old

Hello there,
From the values that you have given here it seems that you are not yet a diabetic. However you are a prediabetic that means you are at high risk of developing diabetes. But I would suggest do undergo a test called OGTT (Oral glucose tolerance test) where they give you a glass of glucose water and then do the PP testing in 2 hours. That is a better test to know your true diabetic status. Fasting sugars when more than 125 or after 2 hour of glucose load if sugar is more than 199 then you are a diabetic. Till then try to reduce the carbohydrate and sweet content of your meals and try to include mininmum of 45 mins exercise per day for at least 5 days per week. That will help you to delay the onset of diabetes (hoping that you are still in prediabetic stage).
