Suggest Treatment To Cure Pain

I am a 70 year woman who is waiting to go into hospital to probably have hip surgery (I had a hip replacement in the other hip in 2006 and that is now great!). To manage the pain - my doctor put me on Tramadol and Ibruprofen which has not help with the pain so another doctor (in the same practice) told me on the phone that I needed to be on Sopadol and Naproxen. I took these for 3 days and although they help with the pain I became severly constipated and felt very unwell so I stopped taking any medication the day before yesterday however, I have a bad tight feeling in my head, I feel generally unwell and I have ringing in my ears. Now I don't know what to do as I am still in pain. I am ordinarily a very fit and healthy lady and am still working so need some advice on how to manage the pain until my hospital appointment on September 12th. Can you pls advise? Thanks Jo
