Hello,
I have gone through the query and understood your concern. Fertilization happens only when ovulation occurs. If that does not happen, a natural period ensues after two weeks. In PCOD, there is an associated corpus luteum deficiency which can cause an earlier period after ovulation. This can be corrected by using progesterones in the secretory phase. In the current scenario, you did not conceive with the intercourse around ovulation. The spotting you observed was most likely premenstrual. This happens many-a-time and you cannot expect to conceive in the first cycle itself. Please follow your doctor's instructions and plan further management. Take care.
