Hello Doctor, I have been having Sun burn in my hand and in my face for past 3 years(Only 4 spots in the face: 2 in the side neck and 2 next to ears).I have changed 3 doctors and the result is negligible. When i continue medicine, it would be in control which means i will have less rashes and less itching. I don t have much sun exposure, except occasionaly on weekends. Otherwise on all days i have sun exposure for 15min in the morning, 15min in the afternoon. Everytime i visit the Doctor, they change the ointment and that is only sufficient to reduce the red rashes and ithing. Please suggest me What do i do to get rid of this completely? I can understand your concern for the sun burns. It is quite usual to get sun burn after acute sun exposure in fair colored individuals due to the skin type. It is due to less amount of protective pigment melanin in the Caucasian skin.
IN my patients I suggest them to do strict sun protection for the prevention of acute sunburn. It is of utmost importance as to prevent further complications. Even two minute of direct sunlight is sufficient to cause the sunburn in your kind of cases.
In my patients I suggest them a broad spectrum sun screen lotion or a physical sunscreen covering both ultra violet A and B radiations. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.
