Hello,

You are suggested to quit smoking, cut on drinking caffeinated beverages. Nicotine and caffeine can worsen anxiety. You can reduce anxiety by getting in contact with a counsellor or a physical therapist. CBT, talk therapy, massage therapy are helpful. Group therapy helps to carefully manage your time and energy.

Socialize and make new friends. Avoid stress and do not let worries isolate you from your loved ones or activities that make you stress free. Take a break whenever you feel anxious, take a brisk walk or delve into a hobby to refocus your mind away from your worries.

Gardening, reading books, listening to quality music, singing, writing, etc., will help to get rid of anxiety. Stress management and relaxation techniques along with meditation and visualization techniques can ease anxiety. Make sleep a priority. Take at least 8 hours of sleep and take adequate water and fluids. You can consult a psychiatrist if symptoms persist. You may need antibiotics.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
