Suggest Treatment To Regrow The Hair With Alopecia Androgenica
hello dr. my name is viki and I suffering the problem of alopecia androgenica from last 6 years, so many dr. i had change for regrowth of my hair but no one give me proper medicine for my hair regrowth,I had use the medicine like minoxidil 5%, tab finpecia 1mg, dutastried 0.5mg cap and many more other lotion, but this are failed to give satisfactory result. so, what can i do, for regrowth of hair
Minoxidil and Finasteride are US FDA approved therapies for androgenetic alopecia. However, the response to these remedies has a limit and one cannot expect to regain all the hair that was lost. The aim of these remedies being to halt further progression.
Newer approaches that have become available for androgenetic alopecia are Platelet rich plasma (PRP) and Hair transplantation. You may try one of these.
In PRP (Platelet rich plasma) an autologous concentration of human platelets in a small volume of plasma is obtained from the patient's own blood after processing in an automated centrifuge and it is injected subcutaneously into the area of alopecia.
The beneficial effects of PRP in Androgenetic Alopecia are attributed to various platelet-derived growth factors causing improvement in the function of hair follicle and promotion of hair growth.
It is safe, cheap, and non-allergic and it appears to be a useful adjuvant in the management of androgenetic alopecia.
However, Hair transplant is the best option. Hair transplantation is achieved by removing grafts from the back (occipital area) of the scalp which are more resistant to hormonal changes, and placing them in areas of scanty growth or baldness. It is definitely more expensive than PRP, but gives lasting results.
Therefore I would suggest that you seek another appointment with your dermatologist Or a plastic surgeon regarding these treatment options for androgenetic alopecia.
