Suggest Treatment When Diagnosed With Cellulitis

I was diagnosed with cellulitis and am taking cephalexin. The red patch on the back of my leg has been expanding over the last 3 weeks, from a mild burn I got. I have had a mild fever for about the last two weeks and feel like I have been run over by a truck. Today I just discovered two more red patches, one above the previously known patch and another dollar sized patch on my left side

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Cephalexin is generally a good antibiotic for cellulitis infection. On the other hand, if you are using it for a few days now and new red patches are appearing you may need to have it checked again with your doctor.

In some patients, other antibiotics may be needed, depending on bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
