Suggest Treatment While On Thyroid Replacement Long After A Right Thyroid Lobectomy

I m 64 and been on thyroid replacement since age 19. I had a right thyroid lobectomy in 1970, due to cancerous tumor. I have been a caregiver to my husband, mom and sister for past 2 yrs and have not been taking care of myself. I ve not been back to my endocrinologist and have not taken my levothyroxine for about 4 months. what problems am I looking at?

Thyroid cancer after thyroid surgery, all patient (except selected low risk patients undergoing lobectomy) require postoperative thyroid hormone therapy (T4 levothyroxine) to replace normal hormone production and / or to suppress regrowth of tumor. The degree of TSH suppression is individualized based upon the extent of the disease, we recommend an initial serum TSH goal of.
