HELLO MY 10 YR OLD NEPHEW WAS JUST DIAGNOSED WITH CONCUSSION HAS NECK AND BACK PAIN HAS JUST DEVELOPED 103 FEVER TYLENOL NOR IBUPROFEN BRINGS IT DOWN TO 100 BUT THEN BACK TO 103 ALL IS CT TESTS AND BLOOD WORK OK NOT SURE IF ITS VIRAL HE HAS SLEPT ALL DAY NO SIGNS OR SX OF COLD OR VIRUS TALKED ABOUT POSSIBLE MENINGITIS BIT WANT TO WAIT FOR 1 WEEK BEFORE DOING SPINAL TAP??

Hello,

It is better to go for spine tap at the earliest and start antibiotics. If you delay the treatment, the chances for complications are high. If there is diagnostic confusion, an MRI might be useful.
