Suggest Treatments For Chronic Knee Pain

i have constant knee pain. the only time i get relief is when I have them slightly extended. Standing up from a sitting position is very painful. I am overweight but always have been. Lately the pain is even keeping me up at night. I went to a doctor and he said to come back in six weeks. My knees have been hurting me for the past ten years.
