Suggest Treatments For Reticular Infiltrates In Lung

Hi! I have cough and colds and I have my xray. Results state that there are fine reticular infiltrates in my left upper lung which may relate to pulmonary tuberculosis of undetermined activity. Is the result accurate? How can this be addressed accordingly?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
Reticular opacities in lung suggest inflammatory thickening of inter alveolar septa. It is mostly post infection.
Since upper lobe involvement is common in tuberculosis, we need to first rule out this.
So get done Sputum examination for AFB.
If sputum production is not there than get done bronchoscopic evaluation and BAL (Bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis for tuberculosis.
If all are normal than no need worry much for tuberculosis.
But you need to get done above mentioned investigations to rule out active tuberculosis disease.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
