General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. The simple test of ultrasonography of the abdomen will confirm whether this is a watermelon tumor, meaning a large Ovarian cyst or any other cyst of the mesentery or a Hydatid cyst. This is further confirmed by a CT scan and surgery undertaken. The swelling on the lower limbs is due to compression on the veins draining the lower limbs causing back pressure and swelling.
