Suggest Ways To Avoid Pregnancy After Sex

Good morning Doctor. Had an unprotected sex approximately 60 hours back. And my girl friend recommended ampiclox as a contraceptive. But from few reviews I found that it doesn t work as contraceptives. What can be done to prevent any pregnancy. Thanks in anticipation of your quick response.

Hi,

Before recommending any contraceptive to you, please go in for consultation and physical check up. Maybe Pap thin smear test and imaging and breast examination. Assuming everything is okay, I would recommend oral contraceptive such as Levlen ED. There is no need to go for high dose, more fanciful ones, unless clinically indicated. Of course, there are injection form intra-dermal ones, and IUCD choices are many. If you have sex accidentally, of course you can go for morning after pill; it is only 90 percent safe from pregnancy, please practice safe sex.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Law, General & Family Physician
