Suggest Ways To Control High BP And Diabetics

I am a moderate type 2 diabetic after losing 135 lb. My blood sugar runs about 120. I take metformin, and the usual blood pressure, cholesterol and gabapentin for neuropathy in my feet. My blood pressure after being with no medicine for 2 weeks was 130/70. I feel I m close enough to possibly use essential oils/herbs to see if I can control these numbers without all of the chemicals. My doctor freaked out that I had no kidney protection with out the losartan and that my blood sugar was above 100. Getting confused.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, to check kidney function I would suggest you do serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, glomerular filtration rate and 24 hours protein estimate of urine.

Losartan will help you reduce kidney disease progression and control blood pressure. Do regular blood pressure monitoring and blood sugar level with physician opinion.

Do regular exercise for 30 to 40 mins daily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
