General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Should check blood electrolytes and kidney function. If everything is ok, and if your hypertension is well controlled then, unfortunately, we can admit it's due to hormonal changes at your peri-menopausal age.

But first should rule out possible water retention from heart or kidney problems. Check it out with your caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
