Suggest Ways To Control Hypertension Post Child Birth
Hi Dr. I recently delivered my baby and my blood pressure started to get uncontrolled. I am now on hypotone 500mg 6 hourly, prexium 8 mg daily and adalat xl 30mg daily are all these sage taken together and wont they cause hypotension and are they safe since I am breastfeeding?
Everything you take affects your baby.
But, to me you should understand first why you have this uncontrolled blood sugar:
- hormonal (ask to run thyroid function test)
- kidney problems (get urine analysis done and check protein in urine)
Usually postpartum hypertension will resolve on its own. To me, you should put your baby on formula milk until it will resolve. That is too much for your newborn baby. Discuss this with her pediatrician and your caring doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
