Suggest Ways To Control Hypertension While On Bystolic

Thank you. I am on Bystolic. My doctor prescribed 5 mg--which I take with breakfast--and told me that, if my blood pressure remained a bit too high during the day, I could take an additional tablet. Well, yesterday my pressure went up late-morning to 153/94, so I took 2 tablets (10 mg) of Bystolic at about noon. After about 2 hours, I felt much better the rest of the day. At dinner, I took an additional 5 mg tablet, for 20 mg all day. This morning, I felt very good when I awakened, but became increasingly tired (with weak legs) as the day wore on. I took an additional 10 mg of Bystolic at dinner, for a total of 20 mg today. My legs continue to feel weak and somewhat sore, and my blood pressure reading (before I went to bed) was 181/94. I m afraid that what I m feeling may be caused by the extra Bystolic over the last 2 days. Thanks for taking my question.

Hi,

You need a proper dosage adjustment to control your BP. Just taking as and required doesn't solve your problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajmera Jail Singh,
