Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I have gone carefully through your concern.

If you have done thyroidectomy you must check the thyroid hormone levels and start treatment immediately if hypothyroidism is confirmed.

Normally after total thyroidectomy, the absence of the thyroid hormones would have caused mixedematous comma within a few months later.

Probably your thyroid is not removed completely but the remained tissue does not compensate the function. After a under active thyroid is confirmed with (TSH,FT4 and FT3 measurments) levothyroxine treatment must be started.

Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
