hi, am staying in hostel here in tamil nadu, India ... here water is very thick and salty ... it damage our skin hair and all while using that water for bath ..any easy way to get protection from this like adding something to water before taking bathe or some other simple way to purify water while bathing
Yes surly you can try the use of alum before using the water for any use. It definitly makes the water soft and you can use it for bathing as well as for other cleasning purposes.
Boiling of water is another mean to make it soft but it is quite cumbersome.
The only thing to be kept in mind is hard water has the more contets of salts which may make you prone for develoment of renal stones so it is advisable to use packaged drinking water, or purified water by other means if you have history of renal stones in past.
