Suggest Ways To Manage Severe Pain After Multiple Surgeries

I have been on narcotic pain killers for years for many things- DJD, 10 SURGERIES including both knee and right hip replacement. I m looking at carpal tunnel repair n orthopedics said my right wrist needs extension surgery. Changed docs who abruptly stopped my pain meds and I m having a bad time with this. Just got hypertension perfect and with the pain it s climbing higher again. I ve been given replacement and tramadol. Tramadol and Tylenol 4 managed the pain. I am aware of new narcotic laws and don t know what to do. It s miserable. Help!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You can take analgesics like oxycodone or hydrocodone for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist, better to consult a physiatrist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
