Suggest Ways To Manage Side Effects Of Clonodine And Losartan
HEllo I am an active 70 year old female (hiker, swimmer, X-C skier). I take 3 different meds for Hypertension-clonodine (3 x per day), amiodipine & losartan have also been added in the past 6 weeks. I am experiencing bad side effects:severe flushing and shakiness., I am suspecting that The losartan is the culprit? My new cardiologist wants to change my meds to: taking 1/2 clonodine And 1/2 losartan (eventually eliminating the clonodine). Something is wrong!? Please advise. Thank you, Carole
Yes, your side effects are due to losartan. You need to immediately make your cardiologist aware of your adverse reactions. He may decrease the dose of losartan or replace it with any other new drug. Please tell your cardiologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
