Suggest Ways To Manage The Side Effects Of Abilify

What r the side effects from abilify .. I have been taking it at nite before bed .. 5 mil .. I think I m a little swollen .. my taste buds are effected .. and I find that it doesn t let me sleep so well and I think I m a little more manic .. please help .. I started taking it at 3 in the afternoon . I am also on Prozac 20 mil which I take in morning thx Leslie

Hi,

I am sorry to hear about this, you may be experiencing side effects of Abilify. It is true that it may cause you trouble in sleeping. Other side effects of this drug that you may have or may not have experienced are: dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, drooling or excessive saliva, constipation, weight gain and blurring of vision. State their problem from what you have read SA question.

You should know that your doctor gave you this medication because she or he had a clinical judgement that its benefits overweigh the risk of side effects. However, as you mentioned you feel like this drug is making you more manic that’s why I am highly suggesting that you see your doctor for this since this platform is limited and I won't be able to do a complete physical examination.

Some drugs may not give every patient the same effect, which is usual. Your doctor can prescribe you with an alternative drug that is more suitable for you.

For the meantime, I suggest that you still take the drug as prescribed until your next consult.
