Suggest Ways To Prevent Pregnancy Post Unprotected Sex
It has been 9 days since unprotected post coital and I m concerned I could be or become pregnant, I do not want to be. . I m a 44 year old woman with 4 children who has always used nfp But it s been harder to use lately because my cycles have been irregular. What I thought was a safe period ( 3 days after thermal shift ) now I m worried was not. My period usually starts 10 days after 1st day of shift , it s been 12 and my breasts hurt. Is there something I can do to stop implantation now ?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. At this stage, there are no medications which can be taken to prevent implantation. If you needed to avoid pregnancy from happening, you should have taken emergency contraceptive pill (morning-after pill) within 72 hours from the time of unprotected intercourse. In case you are pregnant, the only option available now is to go for abortion using pills under medical supervision. This can be done for pregnancy up to 10 weeks. Kindly consult Gynecologist for evaluation and appropriate management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
