Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Quitting smoking will definitely enhance his skin healing and will reduce chances of relapse. Many time professionals help is required for de-addiction specially if it is complicating medical problem.

As he is not able to stop smoking himself then, for deaddiction he should meet nearby psychiatrist. In treatment anti-craving (like bupropion) and nicotine replacement therapy (for withdrawal control) are helpful.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
