Suggest Ways To Rule Out A Concussion

MY 13 YEAR OLD JUST INFORMED ME THAT SHE GOT HIT IN THE HEAD BY A BALL @ RECESS/LUNCH @ SCHOOL. WHAT ARE THE SIGNS FOR A CONCUSSION? WHEN SHE GOT HOME FROM SCHOOL (APPROX. 4PM ) SHE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO LAY DOWN AND SLEPT UNTIL 7PM WHEN I WOKE HER UP FOR DINNER. SHE SAYS SHES DIZZY, HAS BLURY VISION, HEADACHE but she can be a little drama seeking so I don t know if its a true worry or something not to be to worried about. the school never contacted me about her getting hit by a ball.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
To confirm weather your child has concussion injury or not, you need to get a CT scan of head region done. It would clearly tell about the status what is happening inside. Also, if present, it would help to strategise the treatment that needs to be instituted.
Kindly consult Neurosurgeon with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
