Suggest Ways To Strengthen The Pelvic Muscles Post Hernioplasty And Varicocelectomy

Hi I had hernioplastiy and varicoselectomy done last December. After that I am doing work at software company. I am doing my daily activities and walking. (1) How do I start - I mean what light exercises to do AT FIRST to prevent recurrence of hernia. *What should I do to strengthen my pelvic muscles?* (2) From when can I start doing exercises like push ups and sit ups? And also medium dumbbell workout? I have lost all muscles. Thank you for your kind answer. I have refrained from doing pushups sit-ups and such things out of fear that I might damage the mesh or the stitch area. :-(
