Suggest Ways To Switch From Talwin NX To Hydrocodone

Hello, I just got switched from Talwin NX onto Hydrocodone for severe pain. I have heard that Talwin NX has Naloxone in it which can block the actions of other opiate drugs. How long do I need to wait until I can take the hydrocodone? I took a dose around 8:30 am this morning, 1 pill, but doctor gave me stronger pain med since the Talwin NX was not working so good for my pain. Just need to know when I can take the hydrocodone based on this timeframe from when I took my last Talwin NX so the effects of the medication will not be blocked by the Talwin NX. Thank you

Hello,

Naloxone half-life 30-90minutes. You may take opioid after 12-24 hours after stopping naloxone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
