Suggest Ways To Wean Off Doxycycline

48 100mg of doxycycline were prescribed to me for an African trip to be taken 1 tablet for 48 days. I have about 5 tablets left and because I seem to have a lot of diarrhea in the mornings lately I would like to know if it would hurt to quit taking them now?

Hello,

Doxycycline is used to treat many different infections. I wish I knew why this antibiotic was prescribed for you.

A very common side effect of antibiotics is diarrhea. If you are not otherwise ill, it would be reasonable to discontinue doxycycline at this point.
