Suggest Ways To Withdraw From Methamphetamine Addiction
Good afternoon, I know that this isn t as serious as questions dealing with current addiction, but I recently found out that my girlfriend used small amounts of meth about 6 times over 3 months, 20 years ago. She is seemingly healthy, but this has been difficult for me to accept. One of my main concerns is that we plan on having a family and I don t know how her past experimentation could have affected her reproductive system. Or permanently affected her overall health. Again I realize that this isn t an urgent question, but I m very worried and any information you could share would at least help me understand. Thank you
She would need to get a toxin screen to look for drug levels whether they are dangerously high for her to get pregnant.
In any case a detailed psychiatrist review and addiction clinic follow up, group therapies, behavioural modification therapies etc may be needed to get off these addictions.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
