Suggest Whether Adapalene Or Brevoxyl Gel Can Use As First Line

I was prescribed Deriva ms gel for black spots after pimples. I have a doubt that may use this adapalene gel in the first line itself since I havent tried any medication for this problem in my face yet or can I start brevoxyl gel as first line. Please clarify
