Suggst Remedy For Frequent Migraines With Hard Lump At Base Of Skull Radiating Pain

Hi, I have a history of headaches since I was a child and over time they ve turned into migranes. It is typical for me to have a headache a couple times a week, but usually a migrane once or twice every two weeks. I have had a migrane for the past week and saturday I was in bed all day except to eat lunch. Medication didn t seem to help. I had a low grade fever, felt exhausted, with an excruciating migrane only on the right side with a burning sensation coming from the base of my skull into my neck. While washing my hair yesterday I felt a lump at the base of my skull that is hard to the touch, the lump itself does not hurt but pain radiates from it. What should I do?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and you seem to be suffering from severe migraine attacks.

You need to be started on preventive medications to reduce the severity and frequency of headaches. The options include beta blockers, topiramate, valproate, and botox injections.

For pain relief, you can take rizatriptan or sumatriptan tablets.

The lump at base of skull needs to be examined to determine its nature and cause.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
