Sunburnt On Top Of Forehead, Have Fever, Chills And Burping. Is It A Sun Stroke?
Hi, I got badly sunburnt on the top of my forehead and face yesterday, last night I vomited and had chills then sweats, today I have been hot all day, have now got chills again. Temp taken is normal. I did eat yesterday also and thought the takeaway chicken looked not too good, so took it out after eating half. I have crohns but no pain, I am now burping a lot. I feel really exhausted. I am drinking hydration drinks now. Do I just have sun stroke .
Sun burn causes erythema/ redness of the skin. This can be associated with pain in the burnt area, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, rigors, etc. This may be caused due to loss of fluid from the body. Sun burn can cause injury to the superficial skin and hence loss of effective barrier against environmental insults. Besides replacement of fluids from body, care of the skin is also required. Healing of the skin is necessary to avoid fluid loss. You need to consult your doctor for clinical examination. If the sun burns have damaged the superficial skin, treatment to heal the superficial skin needs to be done. The burping may be caused by indigestion. Take light food for few days to avoid indigestion and abdominal discomfort.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
