Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I know a 54 yo female with swelling ankles and feet. Walking and standing are difficult. Subject is obese. Smokes. BP and VS within normal range. Blood work normal. What is it? I suspect something to do with the heart. Thanks.
I would say that the smoking and obesity are making her blood vessels constrict, and not allowing the blood to circulate properly. It could also be a kidney problem. I would suggest she see a physician. She needs medical attention.
