Swelling In Right Heel, Spongy, Fluid-filled. History Of High BP. Treatment?
Hi My name is CXXX, I am 57 yaers old male, 15.5 stones, high blood pressure . I have last fews days noticed a bit of swelling on my right heel, feels like spongy , fluid filled, never happended before. I have just recently taken up walking and a light jogging. It is uncomfortable and painful whilst wearing shoes Should I be worried.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Praveen's Response
If the swelling is around the heel it might be due to the accumulation of fluid in the tissue(pedal edema). This is due use of calcium channel blocker (amlodipine) which is used for the treatment of hypertension. This warrant change of medication for hypertension under medical supervision.Hope this helps.Take care.
