Swelling In The Ankle,wrists,knees And Elbows.Treatment?

i developed a problem with my joints last year in May. i started developing some lumps across my calves and the front part and it spread to my arms as well. the joints at the ankle and wrists and knees and elbows were also swollen. further medical consultation with a medical practitioner showed some condition which he said was coming from late development of my bones from childhood bones to adulthood bones. after a prescription of ibrupofen and predinisolone the swelling and lumps went away. 19mnths later i am starting to experience pain after taking the stairs or sitting in the car for about fifteen minutes. i am a bit scared. could it be a repeat of the same illness?
