Swelling In Throat And Glands, Sore, Coughing. Medical Cure For This?

I have swelling around my bottom of throat and up my glands - My doctor did not think it was my thyroid glands but just said go home and see how you feel. He looked into my mouth and could not see any thing wrong. My throat is sore - I cough several times a day - not a cough like when you get a cold. I also get sore throat when I swollow sometimes.

Hi,

the symptoms you describe go for a viral infection of the throat.

The cough may be from a postnasal drip of secretions.

You may use local antiseptics for the throat, acetaminophen for the discomfort, also normal saline for the nose.
