Swelling On Ribcage. Hard. Had Flu, Vomitting, Fever. Feeling Sick. Consult Doctor?

Hi, last week I believe I had a flu, vomiting, fever the works..im still feeling puky and run down..I woke up with swelling on my right ribcage..just a about an inch below and three inches to the right of my breast...the swelling is linear and follows the path of a rib..it is about 2 inches swollen...it feels slightly hard..I have no pain with this..just feeling sick still..curious if its normal or if I should see a doctor..thanks

According to your query at present my opinion is this that it is "HERPES ZOSTER".
At the beginning in Herpes patient don't feel any pain but slight discomfort.
You said that swelling is linear and have a path in rib cage.
History of fever was there so this one point is also indicating towards that.
If it is Herpes than its next course would be in a line along ribs.
So need not to worry as this is a simple and but contagious disease.
