Swollen Ankles After Smoking Meth. Treatment?

My sister smokes Meth quite frequently. Recently she noticed that the day after she had smoked her ankles became swollen. Also she had a scratch on her leg that now is red and swollen and to me looks like it may be festered up some. There are no doctors in our area that can get her in quickly since she has no insurance. I have some oral antibiotics and triple antibiotic ointment at my house but unsure what else we can do for right now until a medical dr can see her

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic forum.
first she should stop smoking and taking drugs. if there is wound infection she needs to have 7-10 days antibiotic treatment and daily wound dressings. she must reduce salt intake and keep her legs eleavted, avoid long standing. if these measures arent enough she needs to visit doctor.
Hope I have answered your query.Wish you good health. Regards

General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
Hello,
Crystal meth is a highly addictive central nervous system stimulant and has various dangerous effects on body including mind and skin.
This dug causes hallucinations which lead the users to feel crawling of bug on their skin called ad CRANK BUG.
This crawling leads to repeated scratchings of skin resulting in abrasions and infection of skin. You seem to ave developed cellulitis which would require anti biotic course.
If the infection is moderate to severe, you may need injectable antibiotics.
It would be best on your part to consult a doctor or go to ER for proper management as early as possible.
Thanks
