Swollen Ankles And Shins After Having A Cardiac Arrest. Not Able To Walk. Reason?
Hi my partner had a cardiac arrest last week his home and well thank god but his shins and ankles have been swollen since? They feel like water is underneath them and they really hurt him to the point he cannot walk, do you have any idea what this could be as the doctors in the hospital had no idea! Would be great if you can help? Thankyou
The usual cause in such situation is heart failure. Kidney impairment / Liver disease / Low protein, anaemia / thrombosis or weakness of the leg veins - and so on are some of the other causes. It is rather odd that the hospital has no idea! / You have not stated your personal habits, family history, or co-morbidities, even age, gender...which could have an influence on the diagnosis and outcome... He needs examination and investigation.
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
