Swollen, Bleeding Growth Removed From Scalp. Used Silver Nitrate To Stop Bleeding. Malignant Lump?

Hi. I had a raised, shiny, moist, swollen and easy-to-bleed growth removed from the back of my head, on the left side of my scalp near the occipital lobe area. The physician at the er had a hard time stopping the bleeding with silver nitrate , but ending up burning it off. He forgot to send it to pathology , so now I do not know if it was benign malignant....any advice?

Hi thanks for your question.
Forgetting to send the sample meant for histopathological examination (HPE ) is a blunder not acceptable in medical practice. There is no way out to know whether it was benign or malignant .Chances of malignancy are there since it bleed profusely and bleeding controlled with great difficulty. The only way out to rule out malignancy of this tumor is take edge biopsy that is biopsy from the margins of site from where tumor was removed and sending it for HPE.
