Swollen Gums, Light Bleeding, Dry Mouth. Done Mouth Cleaning. Using Mouth Rinse. Normal With Deep Cleaning?
Hello. I had a deep cleaning last Friday for the whole mouth. Now the left side is OK to eat, but the right side is still not comfortable, not very hurt though. Part of my gums are still swollen and white ( at the front teeth and at the inner side of the lower right gum). I think I had it before the cleaning already. I did see a little bit blood when I brush when floss, but just slightly. However when I lay down in bed, I have a lot of saliva, sometime mix with milk and a little of blood. But during the day time, my mouth is very dry. The doctor gave me chlorhexidine mouth rinse, and I still brush and floss every day. Is this something normal with deep cleaning? Or I have other troubles.
Hi, Thanks for asking... Discomfort after scaling goes off in few days. Healing takes some time so bleeding will stop in 4-5 days. White patche in the mouth are a common symptom of infection, inflammation, trauma, malignancy, and other underlying conditions and diseases.Allergic reactions to food, mouthwash and other substances may also cause development of mouth white patches. Take a cup of warm water and then add half teaspoon of common salt in it. Once the salt dissolves you can use it as a mouth wash. Take multivitamin containing lycopene extracts once in a day for 10 days. Take care
hi... thanks for the query... its pretty normal after deep cleaning... don't worry... bleeding and swelling, both will subside in a day or so... alongwith CHX rinses, also go for warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day... you can also use CHX gel and massage it over the swollen areas... maintain good oral hygiene... brush twice daily after meals... use ultrasoft tooth brush for time being... and please avoid intake of tea and coffee as long as you are using CHX rinses... it can cause staining... hope it will help you... take care...
Hello Thank you for using healthcare magic. As you got advised deep cleaning you must had more accumulation of plaque and calculus. Bleeding from gums can be due to incomplete healing of gingiva. Meanwhile u can apply Gumex 3, 4 times a day to enhance health of gingiva. Your gingiva(gums) will be taking few days to heal. do not worry continue with mouth wash rinses. you can take metronidazle containing tablets by your dentists advise. I would advise to follow up to your dentist again regarding your discomfort. I hope i answered your query. Feel free to write back , if still has any doubt. Take care
Swollen gums can be due to nutritional deficiencies, prolonged use of certain medications, poor oral hygiene. As you have done with your complete mouth cleaning i would suggest you to continue with the use of the mouthwash. Take a complete balanced diet, with plenty of fruits, juices, green vegetables, oranges.Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated.Start with the course of multivitamin suplements under prescription of your Dentist.
Hi, After cleaning this is common for few days. It seems that there is some infection on your gums. g for one oral antibiotic medicine course after consulting your dentist to give complete healing. Continue with gargles. Ok and take care.
